I enjoy feedback from fans of Sharks v. Fish. A common theme is an appreciation for its simplicity. Once launched, the program knows what to do and requires no user interaction (a gift to the lazy man). That was an important design requirement for me. The goal was that there be enough variation in the Movement and Colours theme such that the viewer would not feel compelled to adjust the knobs.

A fan reported to me that he owned a tavern with a large-screen TV above the bar. He would switch the input to display Sharks v. Fish running in full-screen mode on a PC. His customers enjoyed watching and would engage in predictions and discussions about the action on screen. It was something to stare at and contemplate for those who were alone. Visually, it contrasted nicely with its dim surroundings. Presumably, he sold more drinks (?).

Bar patrons made requests for specific scenarios. From time to time the bartender accommodated by adjusting the simulation settings. Mostly, he just left it alone and told them, "It knows what to do. Just watch".

My Art Project had found the perfect venue - an audience of people in various states of intoxication who enjoyed staring at a TV screen. I hope the idea spreads and it shows up in your town.

Please, if anyone else can think of a quirky way to benefit from the project, give it a try. Movement and Colours stimulate the mind. The project never stops moving. It never runs out of colours.

Sharks v. Fish is free for anyone to download and do whatever they want. I think showing it above the bar is a fun idea.
